Tomoe River Paper comparison – 52 v’s 68 GSM
Posted by Lois Ho on
I get asked a bit what the difference between 52 and 68 gsm Tomoe River paper and whether there is any difference in performance, so having both options available, I thought it would be worthwhile comparing the two. As a disclaimer, we sell 52 gsm Tomoe River Paper, here at Pebble Stationery Co, and not the 68 gsm version. We’re not opposed to selling the 68 gsm version, we just don’t have any in our range at the moment.
Since we have one type and not the other, we are potentially prone to bias, so this will be a picture heavy post. We won’t provide an opinion or recommendation in any way, so judge for yourself which you prefer.
Both Tomoe River Paper varieties shown here are "white". The 52gsm is in 4mm dot grid and the 68gsm is in 5mm dot grid.
Inks swabbed:
1) Pilot Blue Black
2) Pelikan Amethyst
3) Lamy Dark Lilac
4) Iroshizuku Ku Jaku
5) Kobe Ink Story #17
6) Sailor Grenade
