Pelikan M600 White Tortoise
Posted by Lois Ho on
Its perhaps not fair that I review a pen that is no longer available, but given Pelikan has been releasing more recent editions of the Tortoise series in the M600 size, I thought it would be nice to talk about one of the first in the range, the White Tortoise.
As usual, when I first saw it I thought, why would you pair a beautiful white and gold trim with a bright green tortoise? But as I saw it more and more and then finally got the chance to see it in person, it looks beautiful and extremely unique.
The M600 size is my favourite of the Pelikan pen sizes, it’s a great length for my hand and the weight is perfect – it uses a plastic piston mechanism so its lighter in weight, compared to the M800 range which changes to brass. It also has a small ink capacity which may or may not suit your needs – I like it because I like to change up my ink colours quite regularly, but if you fancy a larger ink capacity, you may prefer one of the larger pens.
As with all Pelikan nibs, they run wide, but I’ve never had a problem with any out of the box. They are also interchangeable with any from the M20x, M40x or M60x range.
If you ever see a Pelikan you like, I can’t recommend them enough. They are hands down one of my favourite pen brands.
