New Year, New Desk
Posted by Lois Ho on
Happy New Year everyone, I hope you are all safe and well.
A slightly less usual post for this week, but I was so excited I had to share. I’ve been using an Ikea desk set up for the last few years (Linnmon/Adils set up), but after heavy use, the desk top was getting quite worn and damaged. The height of it was also a bit too tall for the desk chair I was using with it and so it was all a little uncomfortable after extended use.
Apologies for the quality of the photos in this post, the lighting is not brilliant and it’s a bit difficult to get the whole desk in shot due to the size.
So I decided to upgrade my desk. I had my eye set on the Pottery Barn Printer’s Key hole desk, but its not available in Australia, so I decided to make my own. Since the height of the desk has to be a little shorter than usual, I had to forgo the middle drawer (in the keyhole) but I’m so happy with the end result.
Its an oversized desk (200x75cm) so I call it my boss desk. I love that its so sturdy and heavy and doesn’t bounce around when I type with gusto. I love starting off the new year with something so significant. Hope you are all having a great start to the new year.
