How I’ve been using our Undated Planner

I’ve had a few questions on how I’ve been using our new Undated Planner (in the Traveler’s regular size) so today I thought  would share with you how I’ve been using it so far.

I’m usually guilty of not being super flexible about how I set up my planners and notebooks, preferring to keep one format for an entire notebook because I enjoy looking back and seeing everything consistent. However, I’m still experimenting on how I use my planner so I’ve had to be really strict about not setting it up well in advance (like I normally do).

You can see how I’ve been using it in the photo below. I split the left hand page into half. The first half is used to manage my “home” tasks and appointments, like bills due, menu planning and social catch ups. The right hand side I use for work appointments and meetings – it won’t tell me every single meeting I have scheduled for a particular day, but I put appointment and meetings where I need to prep beforehand. I use this to make sure that I’m prepared in advance for any meetings that need pre work. For daily meeting and appointment management for work, I go off my outlook calendar.

The right hand page I use to focus on tasks and goals I need to achieve. I split this page into 6 and have a section where I list out my goals for the week. The rest of the rectangles are dedicated to what tasks and things I need to do for each week day. I give myself an easier time on the weekend and if there are things I need to do on the weekend, these will go in the sections on the left hand page (I don’t have that much I need to do on the weekends).

The monthly calendar I’ve used as I usually do, which in Bullet Journal terms in a bit of a Future log, as I don’t set up weeks in advance. Its similar to how I have been logging future tasks/notifications in all monthly pages.

So there you have it. I’ll adapt and change as I go on if there are any alterations that might improve my work/planning flow. Ideally I’d have it optimised before 2021 so that next year my planner will be all consistent (I know – I have a problem!) so I’ll probably experiment a little bit before the year is up.

How have you been using your new planners? Do you have any ideas or suggestions on what I might try in mine?
