Cosmo Air Light 75gsm v’s 83gsm
Posted by Lois Ho on
Like Tomoe River Paper, Cosmo Air Light comes in a variety of weights. The most common of these used for stationery or fountain pen use is the 75gsm and 83gsm version. If you’re wondering if there is any difference between the two papers, I’ve done a quick comparison between the two for your review. I’ve also included the same tests using 52gsm Original Tomoe River Paper for a comparison.
At Pebble Stationery Co, we use the 75gsm for our products, not the 83gsm. We’re not opposed to any other weight of Cosmo Air Light, we just don’t have any in our range at the moment. Since we have one type and not the other, we are potentially prone to bias, so this will be a picture heavy post. We won’t provide an opinion or recommendation in any way, so judge for yourself which you prefer.
Disclaimer: Picture heavy post

For this picture, I’ve placed original 52gsm Tomoe River Paper, 75gsm Cosmo Air Light and 83gsm Cosmo Air light side by side. Lines have been drawn horizontally (left to right) to prevent any “pressure bias” from downward strokes. Hopefully you can see whether Cosmo changes the width of lines from this test (?)
